The La Crosse community is fortunate to have school district, public, and academic librarians as well as community members and organizations working together to enrich the experiences of district students, staff members, and professional colleagues. Participants will learn how the school district librarians and others have developed these collaborative partnerships and how these partnerships are enriching students’ lives. Community connections include collaborating with the public library for our elementary students to visit the public library and for author visits, receiving grants from the La Crosse Public Education Foundation for author visits, and working together with public and academic librarians to offer an annual professional conference that speaks to the universal truths of librarianship. Ask questions and get ideas for your own community connections!
