Empatico is a free tool that connects classrooms around the world. Explore how to bring virtual connections to your classroom in an engaging, intentional and powerful manner. Catch a glimpse of an Empatico connection between a classroom in the United States and Serbia. Authentic learning activities presented will demonstrate how students practiced interpersonal skills that are critical for building cross-cultural relationships in life. Observe how a variety of EdTech platforms were used between two partner classrooms during virtual exchanges to increase student engagement, as well as teach and share about their daily life. Students were able to examine ideas from multiple viewpoints. Mutual understandings were cultivated through reflection circles as we discussed ways that our classrooms were both similar and different. Digital citizenship was always at the forefront of our virtual connections and the creation of media to share.
